Invitation to the Free Press In Europe Conference

Dear fellow media creators, we cordially invite you to our conference “Free Press in Europe” which will take place on February 6-7 in Berlin, Str. der Pariser Kommune 8A, 10243.

Our goal is to bring together various media projects from all parts of Europe to create a unified effort and find solutions to our common problems.

How does reporting work today? How can we create free speech in times of censorship? How can we show solidarity? How can we continue to guarantee political education?

All signs at this time point to major change in all our countries: climate collapse, militarization, the rise of right-wing organizations and parties. This makes it all the more important that we stick together now! The role of the media in such times has always been essential. It is our job not to be overwhelmed by political pressure to spread certain narratives and discourses.

Let us regain our initiative as magazines, radio stations, newspapers, and blogs. As a unified and interconnected network, we are a powerful force and a voice for alternative perspectives.

We reached these conclusions at the “People’s Platform” in Vienna in February 2025. We also decided that democratic media need a place to exchange ideas, analyze problems, educate each other, and develop shared perspectives. For this we have developed a program for our conference, which you will find added to this message.

To let you know, we ask everyone for 20-35€ donation for food, drinks, sleeping places and the general organization of the conference. People that can pay more, are welcome to pay more, so others who have less can still participate.
